This time last year, I was regretting another holiday being over, washing and hoovering, making progress with Zau and watching Psyche.
Today, I did my cleaning jobs and had a bath - normal Saturday stuff.
I tried the strategy for the big ugly boss with my party all at L10 and nearly got him, so I did a tiny bit of grinding (very handy grinding spot nearby!) and got them up to L11. It was still a struggle but I got through it. In fact, considering I'm playing on Story mode, a lot of the enemies hit VERY hard. I've reached the first new town, full of bonkers characters. There's a Big Task I need to do next, but that's for tomorrow. I'm not poking into EVERY corner just because I don't want to get wiped out by a random enemy.
I am definitely enjoying COE33. I look forward to playing, and I give a little cheer when the combat works. Combat is always the last thing I take notice of - I can only think of the Gambit System as one I actively enjoyed (although I liked the combos in Sea of Stars). I'm not ready to say I love this one, but it's growing on me. The Pictos/Lumina thing is interesting, though. Firstly, I really like that when a Picto is 'learned', everyone can use it. Then working out what's the best combination of Lumina is twisting my head but in a good way.
Tonight's Doctor Who was the best episode in YEARS. It's all about the power of story, which I'm always going to love. The cast was 90% people of colour, which is always interesting. Gatwa got to show his true range - and he didn't cry! The relationship between The Doctor and Belinda got some proper attention, and Belinda was shown as a fully rounded character. And the pacing was spot on, considering it was so packed with content! Nothing felt like it dragged or was rushed; every scene and plot point got enough space to do their thing. I really hope we get more episodes from Ellams.
And that was today.
