So, three days off means a shed load of stuff to get on top of when I get back. Yay... I'm not quite on top of EVERYTHING but I'm not far off.

Husband had his appointment with the rheumatology nurse and now has yet another medication! He only needs to take it once a week, though, so that's something.

I managed 1k this morning and am going to try for some more words this evening. Gotta strike while the iron's hot!

Really struggling to find something to write in here, though! Guess that's me done for tonight :D
rosa_heartlily: (Default)
My desire to just chill extended into today, so I didn't make it to church. But I'm leading the service next week, so will HAVE to get my arse into gear!

Following from yesterday's launch of yet another FFVIII adventure (I have no clue how many times I've played this game), I spent an hour or so fighting fish on the beach to harvest their AP and, once Quezacotl had learned 'Card' turning them into cards. I also drew lots and lots of magic and refined it into the next level. Thank goodness for x3 speed! Then I defeated Ifrit but I forgot to give Quistis the GF ability so, although she had Shiva junctioned, Ifrit couldn't comment on it - doh!

With my Ifrit card and a Trauma card I got from carding a Caterchipillar, I then entered Garden ready to do battle and quickly gained the Mini Mog and Quistis cards. I also ran into Balamb itself and played a few hands with the singer near the entrance to the town. Ma Dincht isn't ready to play cards, yet, because I haven't officially met Zell. Did you know there's a chap near the harbour who can nix 'Open'?! Well, I didn't - thank goodness I saved just outside Balamb! I'm looking to collect Blue Dragon and Elnoyle cards.

So, three hours in, I'm ready to head off on the Dollet mission :D

I also got Chapter 3 finished - 10 days and 15k words. Still slightly behind - and I have Things To Do the next two evenings :( There's an outside chance I can get to 25k on 15 Nov, though...

And that really is the sum total of my day!
rosa_heartlily: (Default)
Husband and I went into town and made a start on Christmas shopping. We got something for everyone, so that was good.

After dinner, I tried again with the bit in Stray Blade I was stuck on - still couldn't jump the gap. I began to wonder if I was doing the right thing, so I found a YT video that covered this part and then remembered that there's a sprint function... Sprint at the gap, jump across, easy as pie... Frustrated Rosa is frustrated.

Last night when I finished watching S3 of The Lincoln Lawyer, I realised that I hadn't watched S2. I didn't even remember that I'd watched all of S1 - the only reason I knew I did was an old DW entry saying I'd finished it! Which, when I realised there was a S3, I assumed included S2. Anyway... now I'm watching S2. Winston is the best doggy <3

I also managed to get another chapter done. It took a while - not because the words wouldn't come, but because I was trying to work out the logic and logistics while I was writing. But I got there, eventually.

And that was today.

rosa_heartlily: (Default)
Started the day with a bath. Such a luxury.

Got in an hour on Stray Blade, defeated part 2 of the boss, and found an out-of-the-way trophy. Next time I play, I find a way to track down part 3... or give up and watch a LP :D

I've also managed to make 2k words - now just under 8k. If I had written the minimum number of words per day, I'd be at 10,002; if I'd written my own target, I'd be at 12k. But the important thing is that the words just flowed, today.

And I've binged on The Lincoln Lawyer. I love the judge :D

My very left-wing fb friend had this to say this morning:
Too Big To Rig. Apparently, Harris won't concede any time soon, but there's no plausible steal here. The forward march of totalitarian-liberalism has hit a major bump in the road. Good. Hopefully, Tulsi and RFK will hold Trump's feet to the fire over Ukraine, Big Food, Big Pharma and he will put himself on the side of righteousness in the Middle East by demanding Netanyahu stops his carnage in Gaza and the Lebanon. Anyway, it's an amazing political comeback and only the truly joyless will begrudge him his victory. It's always nice when the People, anywhere, don't vote the way the Establishment tell them to, as with Trump and Brexit in 2016. Whatever happens now, we should celebrate and thank our Ameican cousins, especially Trump's overwhelmingly working class base.

I have zero faith that their 'hopes' will come to pass, but... well, if nothing else, Trump is a force of chaos, so you never know... And if he DOES engineer peace in the Middle East... Well, it would count for a lot, right...?

I keep this person on my friend list so I can avoid living in an echo chamber. I have to say, they DO live in an echo chamber but there has only been one 'like' on this post and no comments. I avoid challenging them - I tried with Brexit (they voted 'leave') but, whilst I agreed with their very socialist reasons, I was hugely sceptical that the Tories would deliver on them. And I am yet to find a positive outcome of THAT event.

This morning, I had a very similar feeling to the morning after the Brexit vote. And this is all I am going to say about American politics for the next four years.

Just watched a bit more of Rex playing FFVIII and he finally got round to reading Selphie's diary - but because he's at the point where Garden becomes mobile, there was quite a lot to read :D He described it as a boss fight, which I don't think is fair - but then I'd have read as I went along. Oh, and he got the bad date because he mismatched the music. Irvine tapdancing is still the funniest thing in a video game ever.

I managed another 2k today, so keeping at it. There are a lot of moving parts to this one and 'Chapter 1' (aka, the first 5k words) reflects that fact. Hopefully, readers will be intrigued by the switching between characters and won't feel like I've given them whiplash!

I made progress in Stray Blade and we are now in The Desert Section. We've done The Mines and The Icy Place already. There is some poisonous gas to navigate, which led to me dying. Oh, well, we'll have another go tomorrow.

I've found a new series to binge on - Anatomy of a Scandal. Very much 'she said, he said' at the moment. I am debating whether to watch the end of it... it is Saturday after all... Arguments against - it'll give me something to watch tomorrow, and just because I CAN do something doesn't necessarily mean I should. AND I still have my evening prayers to do, and I can read more of S&S. And there's just exercising a little discipline over myself. There - it can wait for tomorrow.

Liverpool are back at the top of the table after what sounds like a rather fortunate win for them, and losses for City and Arsenal. In fact, Arsenal are now fourth, with Forest(!) sneaking up into third. So, what was all that about a two-horse race between City and Arsenal?

And that was today. See you tomorrow, DW.
rosa_heartlily: (Default)
I got 2k under my belt today. Not sure how good it is - but at this stage it doesn't have to be. Thankfully :D

This morning I watched a video by Alleyway Jack about the 'lost story of FFVIII', which has me excited about a remake. Just imagine getting the full Laguna story in modern graphics!

I got a few bits and pieces of work done, including some more of the Impact Engine book.

Yeah - not a very exciting day but still a day :)

Just a day

Finished off my character sheets - now it's on to the plot and scene list.

Did some work.

Came home and made curry for tea, and had a video call with younger grandson. He's saying lots of names, now - but still not mine. I do maintain that 'grrr' is a difficult sound, though. Older grandson has his driving test tomorrow - keeping my fingers crossed for him.

And I've just watched Game Dove's videos about FFVIII.

Some days are just not very exciting!

No baby cuddles this week - stoopid meetings - but at least I'll be at home.

Progress has been made on the PMF. It's been a real collaborative effort and I'm very proud of us all for all pulling in the same direction. I did get a question about why we would raise change requests during Dev & Test... <_< When else are you going to raise them? You've signed off the scope so you know what is being developed - anything over and above the scope is a change request, which has to be assessed and either approved or rejected. When I explained this, the penny dropped. But the PM in question felt the wording suggested you HAD to raise change requests, so I modified it a bit to make it clear they're purely optional >D

We also got one of the PMs through the stage gates on all their projects except one - and that's only because they're in the midst of a procurement and can't actually move on to Dev & Test. But they'll be racing through the gate once the product is selected.

The IT element of another project is pretty much done, so I'm looking to shut down the governance and reporting on that ASAP. And I'm still hoping to get out of doing minutes for the reorg work - the 'project board' is being run as part of the regular meeting at the exec level, so why can't their secretary do it? It's only minutes! And it's the least IT project of any of them, so I'm really struggling to see why I'm really involved - except, of course, I'm the most PMO PMO in the organisation.

Yet another reason why the PMO should be a central function *heavy sigh*

And I'm racing through the character charts, now. I did the really obnoxious character today, who is partly based on someone I know IRL but is even more obnoxious.

And I watched another episode of New Amsterdam and... I'm not as sold on it as I was. Everything goes right, no matter how whacky the thing they're trying to do. I dunno... Things always seem to work out well in The Rookie, too - but there at least feels like there's more of an obstacle to overcome.

Right, time to be heading for bed. Catch you tomorrow, DW!
rosa_heartlily: (Default)
I've just watched a documentary on the case of Libby Squire. She was young and pretty... and white British. Would there have been the same level of attention if she'd been any other ethnicity? Obviously, it's impossible to say - but I know there are stats that suggest the answer is 'no'. I'm not even sure why I recorded it. It wasn't a case I followed at the time, and as someone with a daughter who doesn't live with me, it just triggers a sense of anxiety. The interview techniques the police used, and the way they built up evidence of other crimes so they could hold the perpetrator, will be useful for my Nano, so there's that.

I'm part way through Chapter 5 of 6 of Trek to Yomi. There's a definite Orpheus and Eurydice vibe emerging. I really wish I was better at blocking and parrying. I'm sorry Hiroki... The game remains absolutely gorgeous, even at its most gruesome. The black and white images dull the horror but give so much atmosphere. I've made one decision (it's an uber-linear game) that I'm not sure has had any impact on what I'm doing - but maybe will influence the ending...?

I watched Rex Sterling's reaction to the ending of FFX - he actually cried. I remember feeling rather irritated by it, but knew it was the right ending. I also watched him start FFXVI. He has this amazing talent for giving his thoughts on stuff that I know are the complete opposite of what's going to happen - or saying he hopes something doesn't happen that I know is going to. It's equal parts hilarious and endearing.

And I had a play with my new steam-mop-with-attachments. The mop is great on hard floors, and I think the carpet attachment will be good for freshening clean carpets, but we need to tackle cleaning the carpets with a proper cleaner. The hand-held thing is a bit awkward to use but is great at lifting dirt - but doesn't really get rid of it, so everything needs a good wipe down afterwards. I'm pretty pleased with it over all - I didn't spend a huge amount on it and I think I'll get good use out of it.

Such an exciting life I lead...
rosa_heartlily: (Default)
I've just finished watching Umbrella Academy. I found the ending to be (mostly) very satisfying, and I enjoyed the little post-credit montage.
I have a couple of logic-related quibbles. 1) there were 43 children born on 1 October 1989, so they should all have been there at the end (or do we assume the Cleanse swallowed up the whole world and got them that way?), and 2) how do Allison, and Diego and Lila's children continue to exist?!
But otherwise I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.

Not sure I'll ever look at marigolds in the same way, though...

Daughter visited with the grandbabies. Younger grandson is getting to be a real handful - he isn't still for two minutes together. But toddlers are like that! We can cope for a couple of hours here and there. And he's just so much fun, even when he's doing the exact opposite of what you've just told him to do :D Granddaughter takes after her uncle - she's a determined sleeper. The only time she was awake was when she wanted feeding. They are sooo different to each other - younger grandson was the definition of FOMO Baby >D

Husband and I were reflecting that it's a good thing they were born this way round. If younger grandson had been a sleeper, daughter and sil would have been lulled into a false sense of security - and handed a very nasty surprise when hypo-child turned up! As it is, granddaughter is a little spot of calm in the whirlwind that is younger grandson.

Managed to get some work done, too!

I've sent the synopsis for Harding's Choice to some of my Beta readers to gauge their interest. I'm pretty sure one will nope out of it because the heroine is a police officer :D Or they'll tell me that no queer WoC would even join the police. But we'll see.

I was just about to log in to the Nanowrimo forum when I came across an article suggesting that the organisation is endorsing the use of AI for writing... So, maybe I won't do that. I'll still do the challenge itself, though.
rosa_heartlily: (Default)
Had a church meeting tonight that's thrown my whole evening routine out of the window. Still, it was an important meeting about a quite serious event. We have learnings (mostly positive) to apply to the future.

Work-wise, I was expecting a day of head-switching but it was even worse than I anticipated! But I came through the other end. Listening to Green Day helped. The latest album is really reminiscent of their earlier work - but there's honestly nothing of theirs I won't listen to.

Tomorrow, I finish the 'proof of concept' bit of my Nano planning. After that it's all detail - full character sheets and plot outline and scene lists. I'm thinking of sending what I have to my Beta readers and seeing if a) I have an interesting enough idea, and b) what I have so far hangs together logically. It's so easy to get lost in minutiae because you're just too close, and ignore some gaping plot hole. I'm thinking of Yossarian in Catch 22 doing a beautiful job of patching up the wrong wound.

OK, it's very late - time to sleep!
rosa_heartlily: (Default)
We've had it all today - wind, rain and sunshine! Gotta love UK weather :D

There was a session in the Impact Summit today that had me thinking about Richard Rohr - looking for both/and rather than either/or. And Laura Barnard held a book-launch 'party' - she really can talk all day about PMOs.

I made a start on rewriting our governance doc but there's still work to do, so I'll pick it up again tomorrow.

And I've done a 1-page summary of Harding's Choice looking at the main plot, which is Patel's development. Definitely something that will need work if/when we get to editing but it gives us a starting point for November. I also need a timeline for the actual crimes v the discoveries. I already have the crimes overlapping, but I don't want them to be discovered in the order they occurred. I have to keep reminding myself that Smiler picks lonely men with few to no friends and family to worry about them.

No gaming or telly tonight - although I did watch a couple of short things on YT.

Hoping for a solid sleep tonight :(

We completed the latest staff survey a few months ago and the results are in! We've been split into groups to go through the lowest scoring questions for our team - which still aren't really that low and are higher than some other areas. I guess we're basically a happy bunch. Anyway, one was around training and development, and one was about on-the-job learning, which we basically treated as the same question. We do have a department budget for training that's split between the group leaders and we're supposed to ask for funding out of it. But we have no visibility of how much is left in the pot, so one thing we suggested was having a sort of running total.

I also mentioned that I'd like to be able to attend conferences - and I'm sure other colleagues would, too - not only to learn more about our particular areas of expertise, but to meet with our peers and just 'hang out'. These days, I wouldn't want to be away overnight, but I would like to attend one day at a conference. But this week, I get to 'attend' a free conference! Most of the sessions are pre-recorded and you watch the ones you're interested in. And this year I actually have some free space in my calendar, so I'm able to watch them! Of course, it's difficult to mix with my peers - but it's better than nothing.

I've finished Step 5 of the snowflake for Harding's Choice. I have realised that I'm going to need sooo many witnesses - neighbours, job centre employees, local shop keepers... but they don't need all the detail I've given the others. The woman from the taxi firm has more to her - she goes to the police at least twice and has some real evidence. Next is the 4-page summary - we start that tomorrow. Then I have about 30 full character charts to do - not all the characters are as important as the others, but I feel I want to get under the skins of all of them. But I need to leave time for the plot outline and scene list - although that's the part that I'm least likely to actually follow in November! It's going to be tight but I've got 7 full weeks.

And I've just watched the next episode of Umbrella Academy. Klaus sort of threw himself off the wagon. And who IS Mrs Reggie?!
rosa_heartlily: (Default)
This week has just whizzed by!

We're still wrangling the project process but we're definitely making progress.

I finished watching cohhcarnage play DUTM and started watching DUM.

And I've just got shivers watching Rex Sterling play the ending of FFVIII. That game is so important to me. It kept me sane when shit was flying around at work. It introduced me to walkthroughs, which led me to online forums, AIM, fanfiction... And ultimately here! It's no exaggeration to say it saved my life and changed it in ways I cannot even think of.

Part of me wants a remake so damned MUCH - I want Squall to really be the best looking guy in the room and to drink out of his glass rather than pour his drink down his own ear >D But part of me is worried about them trying to make the story make sense, when it's the plot holes you could ride a chocobo through that make it so dear to me. It's a hot mess in places - but Hyne do I love it.

Also did a bit more Nano prep. My current internal debate - do we use taxis? and, if we do, who books them? It would make sense for it to be the Big Bad who is a bit of a control freak. But if it's the Smilers, all the risk is on them. If I do go with the taxi idea, it needs another character - the girl who takes the bookings who sees a pattern in the fares. I like her being an unexpected witness - possibly even dismissed by the police at first...? Yes! If she speaks to THAT officer... OK, taxis it is.

Finally got in an episode of Umbrella Academy, too. They're all so messed up, they're beautiful.

And now to bed.

A female colleague complimented my dress today - full length navy jersey (ebay) with white vest top underneath to hide my blushes and white cropped cardi (both charity shop). Even with the postage for the dress, the whole outfit must have cost under £20 - AND I'm doing my bit for the planet. It also goes perfectly with a pair of white and navy earrings I got from Tradecraft many years ago.

She also said I have a lot of nice dresses, which I do - and the best are my second-hand bargains.

Conversations between LM and another PM revealed some discrepancies between our lists of project deliverables. This list exists in three forms - my Visio process/overview and the P4W check lists I understand, but there's also a spreadsheet listing just the BA and SA deliverables that I don't. Anyway, all three were created without proper reference to the others because of course they weren't. It's not like we're project professionals who pay great attention to detail as part of our jobs or anything... So, I spent some time this afternoon reconciling the three lists and updating my Visio doc - once we agree that's the definitive list, the P4W can also be updated. Not sure if I can do that. It would make a lot more sense for one person to do all of them *sigh*

I spent some time on my Nano prep during my dinner break but I'm not sure what people would have thought if they'd glanced at my screen :D I'm not plotting anything, honestly!

When I got to work, the desk I normally sit at was occupied and it took a few minutes to find an empty desk. The one I finally settled on had three monitors, one of which wasn't plugged in at all and another of which refused to play with my laptop, so I was stuck with one monitor and my laptop screen. I have zero objection to hot desking, but I do want all the tech to behave in the same way at every desk. Is it too much to ask that the IT works in IT?! Anyway, after a couple of hours a colleague informed me that 'my' desk was now free for the rest of the day and I jumped back right away!

I'm just over half way on the LP for DUTM. The player is just breezing through on their first playthrough, which is a tad annoying. However, they are playing it on PC and I think this might be a game that just works better with mouse and keyboard than with a controller...? That's my excuse, anyway, and I'm sticking to it!

And that about wraps up today.
rosa_heartlily: (Default)
Heated up a tin of boiled spuds in the water from the can, let them dry for a couple of minutes, then fried them in garlic butter and a sprinkle of herbs, served with peas and oak smoked ham. Yummy!

I've decided to watch LPs of 'Deliver Us The Moon' and 'Deliver Us Mars' because the stories are interesting, even if the gameplay makes me want to scream.

Work was fairly uneventful. Poked around with a couple of things, showed of pictures of granddaughter, caught up with where all the projects are up to. Was NOT one of the people who booked a room for one of the PM update meetings >D We have four bookable meeting rooms and three of the people in the meeting each booked one of them. Of course, the SENSIBLE thing would be for the person calling the meeting to book a room more than 5 minutes in advance of the meeting but, you know...

Discussed Psalm 10 in Evening Prayer tonight. We all had different examples of the people who could stand in for 'the wicked'. I did float the idea that sometimes wickedness isn't someone else's behaviour, it's something we can find in our own hearts - which was acknowledged. Thankfully, the Psalm ends on a positive note and one of the other people suggested that it's also God's call for how we should behave. Humanity can make heaven on earth - we just choose not to.

And I've just watched a YouTube video of Mozart's music charting how his compositions progressed from the age of 5 to 35. Talk about a child prodigy!

Hoping for a better night's sleep tonight... At least I used the time to ponder Nano - not only the actions of the Big Bad but also Patel inviting Harding back to her parents' house for tea. I'm thinking of taking a leaf out of Terry Pratchett's book and have a number of apparently disparate threads that twist ever more tightly around each other. This just keeps getting more and more ambitious! But it's Nano, so there's no 'failure', only experimentation :D
rosa_heartlily: (Default)
Having been distracted yesterday - blame [personal profile] rionaleonhart ! - I have two days to sum up :D

I did do some Nano prep yesterday, working out the 'ritual' for the Smilers, and how the Big Bad funds it all. In a world where 'identity' matters sometimes to the exclusion of everything else, and a person's ethnicity, sexuality, gender, physical ability, and/or neurodiversity are the elements that make it up, being a white-straight-cis-ablebodied-neuronormative-man must feel like a non-identity. Add in a lack of paid employment, the one thing that might give you a sense of self, and you're really at rock bottom. At least, that's how the Smilers feel. Ironically, Patel is almost the polar opposite but all the elements of her 'identity', not to mention their intersectioning, represent barriers she's had to overcome. I don't want this to be a preachy novel - and I may be seriously mis-representing the Smilers and Patel - but at the very least I think I'll have fun trying to find out what I think their realities are.

Tomorrow, I get going with the Smilers themselves.

I finished Sky: CotL. There's actually a lot packed into a pretty short game. They have different events - at the moment there's a concert thing that involves playing music using the controller, which (of course) I'm terrible at. You can friend other players - and offer and request healing with other players. There's your own little room you can decorate, and clothing items to collect (and buy with RL cash). When I finished, the game put me back at the start and said I was about to begin the 'real' journey. There are certainly lots of things I didn't do and things I want to find out. I'll leave it on my screen for the time being and play it now and then when I want a change of pace. Maybe.

Next up is Ender Lilies, I think. Or dig into Skyrim a bit more.

Lots of new faces at church this morning. Always nice to welcome newbies - and to hope we'll see them again. We aim to be welcoming without jumping on people right away, but we want to provide people with space to use their gifts. It's a VERY delicate path to tread!

And Liverpool beat Man U 3-0 at Old Trafford. Arne Slot's reign is off to a flying start!

Now I really want to get to bed at a decent time, given that I'm back at work tomorrow :(
rosa_heartlily: (Default)
I'm expecting the weekend to be fairly standard. It's been a confusing week, like I said the other day. On the one hand, it feels like a lot more than 7 days since I was sitting in the office. On the other, I can't really tell you what I've done to fill the days - but I know I haven't been twiddling my thumbs!

I have made good progress with my Nano prep. I'm at the sticky end of the 'story from the pov of each character' section. This group are all intertwined and interconnected in ways I'm not really sure about, yet! I think I'm justified in actually taking the weekend off and tackling it fresh on Monday...

Sky: CotL is all kinds of delightful. You can interact with other players, either 'live' or by leaving/interacting with messages, memories and shared spaces. There's also an interesting skill tree, although I'm not entirely sure what to use the skills for... But it's nice to engage with a game where I'm not being shot at from 10 different directions OR fighting with the controls.

Watched a couple of episodes of Umbrella Academy. I thought Viktor was introduced a bit later. And I'd completely forgotten the dance off >D The whole cast enjoyed that waaay too much.

And I binged an entire Doctor Who story whilst sorting through my work emails - reading the non-work ones and shoving the work ones in my 'working' folder for Monday. One of the emails I read was from Nick Cave's Red Hand Files and featured Sometimes a Wild God - Tom Hirons - writer // mentor // guide. You can buy an illustrated copy of Hirons' poem, which would cost me £14. It feels like a lot to invest in someone I only learned about 90 minutes ago - but also feels like a good investment in an artist and an exceptional publisher. It may be my gift-to-self next pay day.

This week's Friday Feature is about hard trophies in easy games. And I watched Rex Sterling make excellent use of Mad Rush and defeat Ultima at the very first attempt. I am in awe.

I'm pondering a post about all the things I love in different FF games, just because. And also so I'm ready when SE ask my personal opinion on what they should include in FFXVII :D
rosa_heartlily: (Default)
One more day of my hols *sigh*

I've ditched DUM because pickaxes. And lack of anything approaching Help. And OMG how do you actually control ANYTHING?!?! The externals of Mars were pretty, though.

Instead I'm playing Sky: The Children Of Light which, so far, is much more my kind of puzzle game. And is super cute.

Got my hair cut - front a touch shorter than I really wanted but not too bad. Still don't think it matches my request of 'long at the front', though.

Did a bit of shopping in town afterwards but nothing terribly exciting.

And finished Series 2 of Umbrella Academy. Lila is making a lot more sense to me, now! And where the Sparrow Academy comes from. The actor playing Young Klaus does an excellent job of playing a younger version of the same person. Not sure the one playing Old Five is as good - he just doesn't feel like an older version of Gallagher.

I'm really glad I decided to watch The Rookie on a fortnightly basis, so I have two episodes to watch back-to-back. One episode is never enough! I might have to wait two weeks in between but at least I know I'm getting a double dose. Celina's desire to have a séance is adorable.

I also made progress with my Nano-planning and my tea shop. Go me!

Take THAT!

As predicted, the final dungeon and boss fight of ISS took a long time to get through. I even paused the final boss fight for a couple of hours whilst I had my dinner and did some 'beat the intro' with the boys! It was a VERY annoying fight in which I got the boss' health right down to about 25% and then died at which point the health bar zipped back up to 75%, which happened a number of times. Helpfully, though, my missile inventory refilled automatically during the fight, so at least I always had something strong to fire at the boss. After the fight, there was a tiny bit of story - which felt distinctly underwhelming after the boss battle - and then I had the option to complete the clear out of the Bad Organisation. I declined. I'm also probably not going to bother with Infamous: First Light.

I then played about 90 minutes of Deliver Us Mars, which features characters from Deliver Us The Moon. For a game that's only a year old, the character designs are ropey. I don't expect hyper-realism from every game but... I think the models in ISS were better and that game's 10 years old. It's one of the reasons I like stylised/cartoony games. They age well, and they also do a great job of hiding lower budgets. Anyway, it's too early to say what I think of the game itself.

I also did a couple of loads of washing and made some progress with my miniature tea shop. It's really coming along.

Today's progress with Harding's Choice was all in my head, but I think I know which character will be based on someone in RL that I really like. There is a question around how much of the RL person's life story to include... I think it might just be one thing too many to wrangle, especially for a quite minor character. I'm also having ideas about the Smilers. I originally thought of them as stereotypical long-term unemployed men, but it would make them more interesting if some were professionals fallen on hard times for various reasons. It would also increase the mystery around the connection between them.

It was good to have a total indoors day. Tomorrow will require some adventuring!
