But I got through it. Did some poking around in Power App/Project and also watched some webinars that gave me some ideas. Next week's looking pretty quiet, too, so I shall continue with the poking.

I made husband laugh by mimicking his youngest brother, earlier - in an affectionate way, of course. It's good to laugh together.

Still no baby... But today is not only the birthday of one of my sisters-in-law but, as far as I could work out, of our last cat. When I told daughter it was Boris' birthday she said, 'as in the cat?'. Well... yeah... how many Borises do you think I know?!

I'd quite like her to be born tomorrow. 16 is twice 8 and 16 + 8 = 24. I like number patterns :D

But eldest grandson passed all his A Levels, the first in the immediate family to do so. Daughter and I both did the first year but then gave up due to being pregnant. I did an access course - equivalent of 3 A Levels - later, and then uni. Daughter has learned through doing. Of course, uni is always there - both our kids could cope with a degree. But it would be part-time with work and stuff.

Grandson has been applying for apprenticeships but we don't know if he's been accepted on one. Fingers crossed...

And it sounds like Clearing went well for the uni. It's a lovely feeling when you can make someone an offer but so hard when you can't. But as most of my family prove, uni really isn't everything!

Just caught up with The Rookie. Monica is so deliciously bad - but she's in danger of tipping into caricature, I think. Lopez and Harper are total bad asses - really looking forward to them taking her down. And they're juggling small children and long-term relationships AND daily danger. I know it's fiction but real police officers are parents.

Foot doctor for husband tomorrow - and I need to book the dentist for a check up.

Daughter was sent to the Women's - and then sent home again. She appears to be in slow labour but is booked in to be induced on Monday, if baby hasn't made her appearance by then. We all just want our little one to arrive! With perhaps the exception of younger grandson who a) doesn't really have any idea what's going on and b) will find his world changed quite a lot <3

An early start meant a looong day but I found enough stuff to poke around at to fill the time. I did send out some meeting invites for another project board with RAPID meetings in between and found myself wondering when I'll be able to take leave between now and Christmas! Summer may be quiet but the autumn promises to be a veritable merry-go-round of meetings. I think I shall have to be creative... But we're getting a solid two weeks at Christmas this year - the uni closes on 23 December and doesn't reopen until 6 January, so I won't need to use any leave then.

I've just finished watching Becoming Elizabeth, which ended on a bit of a cliff-hanger. They portrayed Jane Grey as a bit of a bitch but I'd always thought of her as just another woman being used by the men around her. Maybe she had more of a hand in it than I thought. But she came to the same end. And Elizabeth really did outlast them all by some margin! Such a tightrope she walked for all her life.

Tomorrow promises to be an even quieter day and I'm really struggling to know how to fill it *sigh* I'm sure I'll find something...

I'm training-from-home on Thursday and Friday, so I was in the office today. Gotta make those three days up! Somehow, I managed to spend the whole day doing work-related stuff - but most of the afternoon was clearing out my sent items. This is a useful exercise, though - it means there's less electronic rubbish in my sent items (meeting invites and responses to invites, sets of minutes and or papers for meetings long in the past) and sometimes prompts me to pick up work I somehow managed to drop. Like I realised I hadn't sent the last lot of draft minutes from a project board to the PM for review - and the board was 10 days ago!

Tomorrow looks like it could be just as tedious, so it might be time to tackle my 'archive' folder, which currently has 2k+ items in it. I don't need all of them!

On the way to the office, I called in to the Banardo's shop on the off chance that there might be a nice long, black cardigan. No cardi but I did spot a navy Coast dress with a belt and uneven hemline. It was only much later that I checked the size properly and worried it might be too small. I tried it on and it JUST fits. I am very much looking forward to wearing it tomorrow!

One problem with being in the office today is that I usually wash on a Monday. When I woke up the sun was shining, so I toyed with the idea of racing to get a load done and on the line - but first I checked the weather forecast, which said it was going to rain. So, I ended up doing the washing this evening and hanging stuff up indoors. The rain did indeed come but did not make the world any cooler - in fact, it's now stuffy and humid. Yay.

Spent some time with the boys watching old episodes of HIGNIFY and Only Connect for Comic Relief, then came upstairs for an episode of Psych, whilst they watch Traitors US.

And soon I'll be rolling in to my lovely bed with its lovely clean bedding.

I've been watching the Britain's Got Talent semi-finals this week, so no W3:B&W, other than what I played on Monday. But it is time spent with husband, so that is a Good Thing.

We're both getting excited about our trip to Cardiff in August. I really need some 'nice' nightwear... Yes, I said 'need' and I meant it! I also need some nice maxi-dresses so that I can stay cool and comfortable.

It's raining today, which means digging out a pair of boots. WTF? It's JUNE!!!

And yes, work is slow - lots of people are off due to the school half-term. And even when I tried to make progress on a thing yesterday, I couldn't because other people need to do something first. Le sigh.

The latest practice (how did we get to #7 already?!) in Leo Babauta's 44 days challenge is 'Loving Kindness'. You begin by wishing yourself happiness, peace and freedom from trouble, then someone you love in an uncomplicated way, then someone you feel neutral about, then someone you REALLY don't like, then your group (family, country, something in between), then all living things. I'm finding it a helpful way to meditate because I'm thinking of something rather than trying to keep my mind empty. And doing it first thing in the morning before I do anything else means it gets done!

The new character sheets also continue apace. I think I only have two more to do, then I can get on with the plot!

I have spent the morning so far sneezing and blowing my nose. Hope I'm not coming down with something...

Planning to swing by the doctor's this morning and book a smear appointment. Yay...

Well, that's all for now. Time to get this day started!

Last night, I FINALLY got to play the Gladio/Iggy version of Ch13. It was... interesting. They took a different route through the Keep and it filled in some of the gaps in the story. I'm not sure what I was expecting, really. Anyway, I'm now at the beginning of Ch14 and expect to finish the game on my next session - which will probably be Friday.

As well as my own realisation of what's going on on the train, I watched a YouTube video yesterday that tied it all in with the rescue of Prompto. So THAT's why he asks those questions! Of course!!!

I've said it before (and I'll probably say it again!) but this game really does have the best plot of any FF game ever, but it's probably the most poorly executed. But doing this 'story only' playthrough has helped so much with making everything make sense.

We had a lovely meal on Monday night. It's just nice to be the two of us now and then.

I'm having another week of having to look for stuff to do, this week. Everyone else seems REALLY busy and I worry that I'm not doing something I should be doing - but I'm really not. I spent some time yesterday looking at some of the JDs for jobs I've applied for in the past to give me some ideas for expanding my role. I'm not interested in redrafting my own JD until I'm in a position to go for a promotion, but I need to be able to demonstrate how I am working above my grade. I have time.

The only other news is that the house sale should be completed on Friday. It's taken nearly a year but we're nearly there...
