Just watched a bit more of Rex playing FFVIII and he finally got round to reading Selphie's diary - but because he's at the point where Garden becomes mobile, there was quite a lot to read :D He described it as a boss fight, which I don't think is fair - but then I'd have read as I went along. Oh, and he got the bad date because he mismatched the music. Irvine tapdancing is still the funniest thing in a video game ever.

I managed another 2k today, so keeping at it. There are a lot of moving parts to this one and 'Chapter 1' (aka, the first 5k words) reflects that fact. Hopefully, readers will be intrigued by the switching between characters and won't feel like I've given them whiplash!

I made progress in Stray Blade and we are now in The Desert Section. We've done The Mines and The Icy Place already. There is some poisonous gas to navigate, which led to me dying. Oh, well, we'll have another go tomorrow.

I've found a new series to binge on - Anatomy of a Scandal. Very much 'she said, he said' at the moment. I am debating whether to watch the end of it... it is Saturday after all... Arguments against - it'll give me something to watch tomorrow, and just because I CAN do something doesn't necessarily mean I should. AND I still have my evening prayers to do, and I can read more of S&S. And there's just exercising a little discipline over myself. There - it can wait for tomorrow.

Liverpool are back at the top of the table after what sounds like a rather fortunate win for them, and losses for City and Arsenal. In fact, Arsenal are now fourth, with Forest(!) sneaking up into third. So, what was all that about a two-horse race between City and Arsenal?

And that was today. See you tomorrow, DW.

So, my waistline has definitely expanded over the last 18 months.  Of my four suits, I can't fasten the pants on two of them.  I don't believe I'm eating more and I'm definitely exercising more, so I suspect it's hormonal.  I'm giving myself until Christmas to see if the extra walking to and from the office has an impact.  Anyway, rather than buy anything on ebay because I just didn't have time to wait for it to arrive I went into an actual shop and bought actual new clothes!  Two dresses and a long skirt.  They aren't the nicest things I've ever bought but a) it was an emergency, b) they're floaty and cool in the continuing warm weather, and c) they're comfortable!

If we get to Christmas and there's no significant change to my waistline, I'll accept that this is my new body shape and buy clothes accordingly, but I didn't want to buy lots of stuff in a larger size only for my waist to shrink again.

Having discovered which desk I was 'supposed' to be sitting at, I began moving the previous occupier's stuff off it.  The desk has a really neat wire cradle thing for holding the gang to plug all the hardware into tucked away behind.  In order to unplug the old monitors I had to pull the desk out.  We have Perspex screens between our desks, now.  The ones at the sides go all the way to the floor; the ones facing are balanced on the desks, which I hadn't realised.  Can you see where this is going?  Yup, that's right - Rosa the Bull in the Proverbial China Shop pulled out the desk and the screen at the back of my desk keeled over.  The only real damage was some scratching on the beautiful new screens but it could have been worse.

Anyway, two of the chaps took pity on me and helped me to get everything set straight again.  The screen was surprisingly heavy and, once it had fallen on the floor, very awkward to get hold of and put back in place.

This week I've been organising meetings - and meetings about meetings.  And I've also been preparing for my annual review (which may also be the review for my regrade...?) and I'm very impressed with what I've done in the last year!  I definitely deserve that regrade, IMHO.  xD

The downside of being back in the office is that I've lost the discipline of only shopping once a week.  Every time I'm in town I decide to 'just pop into' shop x.  Really, really want to curb that tendency for lots of reasons.

And I've started editing my 70 x 700 stories.  I have some possible ideas for Nano - or I may charge on with the editing.  We shall see...

But that's life at the moment :)
