This time last year I was enjoying a bath and DAV, and ranting about programmes/films with (to me) annoying premises.

We had snow! It appeared out of nowhere and fell quite heavily for a while, then stopped. The whole day alternated between grey and gloomy, and bright sunshine.

Today I was one of three people down to help lead the Agape Breakfast. Assuming (what should we never do, boys and girls?) the other two would be there early to help each other, I didn't rush to get there but was still earlier than usual. Only one of the others was there (still not sure what happened to the other one who didn't turn up at all - just hope they're OK), so I swung into action to help them. Then two other people arrived and we got everything set up.

At 5 to 10, it looked like it was going to be just the four of us, but by 10 past we'd somehow got to 13! We celebrated Epiphany and talked about gifts, and what we want to offer the world this year. One person spoke about being kind and being present and that stuck with me. If we can be nothing else, we can be that.

Back home husband and I had our dinner and then I booked a taxi to go to my mother's. The driver wasn't entirely sure where they were going at first but they asked if it was near a certain place, which I confirmed, and we were off. I think they went a long way round but we got there OK. Mum and Stepdad were in good form. They showed me the pictures they'd taken on Christmas Eve and I showed them the ones daughter had sent of the grandbabies using their new table and chairs. Later, daughter posted one of GD who had tried copying YG by climbing on the table and had fallen off, banging her face. Later still, she fell into her brother's toy farm trying to get her dummy! Daughter was very accident prone as a child - I used to say she could trip over a matchstick.

After some coffee and Reindeer Cake (which is now the Official Family Name For Christmas Cake), and a bit of a battle with the DVD player, we settled down to Emma. They enjoyed it as much as I thought they would. It really is sooo good. And I spotted a couple of things that had passed me by on my umpteen previous watches, including Mr Woodhouse getting in the draft of Miss Bates' fan >D

I booked a taxi to take me home but after at least 15 minutes of it being '3 minutes away' and not moving on the map, my mother called their usual taxi firm and a car turned up really quickly. They took me on a more conventional route and the fare was a little cheaper - but I still gave them £20 because it's Christmas and they got me home.

When I left my mother's, Liverpool were 1-0 down but by the time I got home they'd got level, and then scored again. But Fulham got a last gasp equaliser - boo-ooo.

After tea, we watched a new gameshow - The Floor. Gameshows always go down well with us. In this one, each contestant has their own 'specialist' subject. I want to go on and see someone beat me on FF :D

Then it was time to come upstairs and prep my journal for tomorrow and Tuesday, and write this post. And now for an early night for 'tis back to work on the morrow.
