This time last year I was enjoying Sea of Stars (especially the band that plays in all the taverns!), and compiling lists of games without combat.

Today, I set off early to collect husband's prescription. The assistant(?) pharmacist couldn't give it out because there wasn't a fully-qualified pharmacist on the premises. I had a bit of time, so I waited until they turned up. As I was approaching the Catholic Cathedral a bird... um... gave my boot a new decoration... So, I took a detour to the toilets in the Cathedral and cleaned it up, then set off again. As I got to the Student Life Building, I saw a former colleague walking towards me. I knew who they were, how I knew them, and where they're working now - but drew a blank on their name! Anyway, we had a chat and updated each other on life and returned to our journeys. And THEN I remembered their name *facepalm*

Had a chance to catch up with a couple of colleagues in between doing some work. Then got home and the son treated us to an Indian take away <3

But too late for me to manage to get to play Veilguard, so instead I'm watching some more of 'The Web of Fear', which seems to be the first appearance of Lethbridge-Stewart - a Colonel at this point. My favourite bit so far was one of the soldiers asking the female scientist, 'how did a nice girl like you get into this line of work?' - her response, 'when I was a child I decided to become a scientist, so I did'. In 1968. Direct and to the point, and without making a fuss about it. Whereas these days everything has to have a REASON.

I've also done a bit more thinking about Nova. I think the king is on a journey to reclaim his rightful throne - he's the True King! But not a very true king... One of his companions is his childhood sweetheart who expects to become queen, but Nova notices he hasn't married her; perhaps he's hoping to make an alliance... I think this is a story about the nature of truth and being true.

I'm not going to have chance to write anything tomorrow morning (this morning's prompt was to write about how it feels to walk down an empty street - again, I tried a number of different scenarios), because I have an early meeting.
