Most of this week is going to be spent at my desk, which is no bad thing.  Of course, it won't be 'fun' - I have a large number of 'Business Rationale' documents to create so that we can do some scoring/prioritisation of potential projects, but at least I'll have the time and space to do as good a job as possible.  Some of the potential projects I know quite a bit about but I'm going to have to be quite 'creative' with some of them!

I've finally managed to get through to Agrabah in KH2.5, and have gone straight from the first episode to the second.  Jafar is free!  Oh, no!!  And in an unrelated-to-Agrabah comment, what the flaming heck have they done with YRP?!  Fairies?!  Siding with Maleficent?!  I... just...

I was reflecting on Yuna's journey.  She went from sweet, innocent, naïve girl to strong young woman who renounced all of her beliefs, but still went forward with her calling to defeat Sin.  Then became a pop-star.  And now she's a fairy who's only interested in treasure.  Seriously, WTF Square?  This is worse than trying to go back on your decision to kill Aerith.

I've just had a terrible thought - I hope they don't 'save' her in the remake of FF7...

OK, time to do a bit of work on the Nano.  Bye DW!

I actually have a lot of strong feelings about pop-star Yuna and how it actually maps perfectly onto her service-oriented joy-bringing personality ("I want my journey to be filled with laughter" "if I can give the people of Spira hope...."). the fairies thing was definitely odd though.

It also makes more sense when you consider how idol culture works in Japan (which is a lot more of what they're referencing than US/UK pop star culture) - idols are supposed to do everything for the fans, be fully accessible to their fans in all ways (this includes not being able to date publicly because they should maintain the theoretical idea of availability), extremely scripted behavior dictated by their agencies - they are actors, on stage 100% of their lives, and when you consider that, Yuna's switch makes even more sense, because it's what a summoner is. So of course she turned performer - it was all she knew how to do.
