Day 1 of Xmas Break 2024/25 was spent thusly.

The shopping arrived! Lots of lovely, tasty, snacky things to give to the family when they visit on Tuesday. But seriously... we spent HOW MUCH on two cratesful?!

My pressie from the son also turned up - I put the box straight into a festive box (because 33yo son couldn't...?), so it's still a surprise but at least looks like a gift.

And I bought some stuff that's supposed to restore the colour to our PVC door - whilst we're tarting up the front, I decided we might as well tart up the door, too.

On a quick trip to the local shop, I picked up a TV guide for Christmas and New Year. We don't normally buy one these days - just use the Tivo box menu - but it's good to have a heads up on stuff we might want to watch. Inside Out is on! It's one of the films eldest grandson and I went to see, when going to the pictures was 'our thing'. I'm going to record it and see if I enjoy it as much, now. And I've bookmarked Inside Out 2 - very much looking forward to seeing that, too.

In FFVIII, I defeated Adel, then went to the Centra Ruins to get Odin. Tonberry King is next. I hadn't realised all the towns are inaccessible at this point - which makes sense, with time being compressed and all. But I'm also going to track down the Ragnarok. Before going inside the Lunatic Pandora, I tried to talk to Kiros and Ward on the Ragnarok but I couldn't get to them.

I gave the kitchen a proper clean and cleared the table so we can use it on Tuesday.

And I've just watched One Life about Sir Nicholas Winton, who saved 669 Czech children in the months leading up to the start of WWII. It's estimated that 6,000 people are alive today as a result of his work. It's humbling to see what he achieved, and what he went through to do it.
