Old Doctor Who was... questionable...
Jun. 19th, 2025 09:52 pmA year ago, I was bewailing meetings (in work and out!), and preparing for Older Grandson's 18th birthday.
Today was the second day of the conference. If yesterday was all about story-telling, today was about maths! Helping students with mathsphobia and decolonising the maths curriculum. There was also a cross-discipline project between business and IT students - those are always interesting, and helping students to recognise they're at uni to learn how to think *facepalm*. Oh, and the morning keynote was about the importance of place and the value of universities to their local area. And the negative impact of no local uni. There was mention of a scheme for PhD students to tutor school pupils on free school meals, where there was a very positive impact on their outcomes - but what about the kids who didn't take part? Shouldn't this be something the Government is doing to uplift the expectations and opportunities for ALL children, FFS?!
Favourite colleague and I were discussing equality of opportunity earlier in the week.
This evening was chippy night - Thursday tends to be an energy low point for me, so getting food delivered is always good. Our usual place wasn't taking orders but we found another one, and it was OK.
I played just under an hour of COE33. I'm in the final area. I'm pretty OP, so the enemies aren't much of a problem. Some thoughts so far:
And I've ordered some ball pit balls and a steam mop to be delivered on Saturday morning. I've messaged the manufacturer of the old steam mop asking for it to be repaired - we'll see what comes of that.
My list of red and white plants for the new bed in the front is growing. I'm thinking mostly white with a smattering of red - don't want to overwhelm the colour-scheme or for it to look too Christmassy (being red, green and white!).

- the pretty harbour is pretty
- the ghost expeditioners remind me of LOTR
- no piano?
- the weapons the game is giving me are pretty rubbish at this point
- I needed Expedition 60's message 55 hours ago :D
- glad we're not fighting you...
