More snow...?
Jan. 18th, 2024 09:29 pmThis really does not compute! But it was only a light dusting this time. Still dangerous, though. The snow on Tuesday partly melted during the day, then froze during the night making the pavements slippy yesterday. So a light layer of snow over icy pavements - Not Good. I wore my trusty wellies and took my time walking to the office, then changed into my gorgeous turquoise Joe Brown boots.

I've had them a few years, now (since before the pandemic), and I love them so much. But they are not the thing to wear when it's slippery underfoot!
I swapped back for the trip home, although the streets were much clearer by then - but better safe than sorry.
One of my colleagues is keen for us to update our PM framework, which is a Good Thing. Need to look at this stuff regularly. The only problem is they look at it from perspective A, then perspective B without checking back with A, meaning the same step gets called different things. I've suggested they finish what they're doing, then I'll wrangle it all into a seamless whole (Rosa polishes her halo). They are the kind of person who gets shedloads of ideas, some of which are great, some of which - not so much. I would find them exhausting if I worked with them all the time! But on the whole, they're good people.
I had a 1:1 with my line manager and floated a couple of ideas from the PSO self-help group - one was a definite 'no' and the other was a 'maybe - let me talk to X'. I don't mind the 'no' but I would like the 'maybe' to turn into a 'yes'. I'd like to help one of the other departments get set up with templates and processes. Although I've shared ours, they aren't using them but keep talking about wanting to. I think they just don't feel they have the time to stop the world and take proper stock of them but if I parachuted in on a consultancy basis (Rosa preens her angel wings), they'd have to take the time to stop.
Helpful and Efficient Rosa is helpful and efficient :D
And we have the go ahead to recruit a new Rector, finally! It's much better timing for me because I feel like I have some energy to put in to the process, which I didn't in November. But the whole thing has been dragged out by political shenanigans from church people. People are people, I suppose... The Kingdom has to reflect the wonderful tapestry of humanity or it isn't the Kingdom.
