On Monday, I collected a urine sample from the husband and took it in to the GP's surgery.  Thursday, I got a text back saying it wasn't the first one of the day (ie, if he gets up in the middle of the night, use that one!), so we redid it on Friday - only then we missed the courier for the lab.  So, we have another go on Monday and get it to the GP by 11am.  *le sigh*

Tuesday, a friend of ours, also a diabetic, brought round one of those fancy sensor discs and reader that he happened to have spare.  It's brilliant!  I can just scan the husband's arm, no need to prick his fingers and try to squeeze a large enough drop of blood out.  It was a big help on Wednesday morning when he had to fast before a heart scan.  Unfortunately, they only last 2 weeks, but I'm making the most of it while it lasts.

Originally, we had two appointments on Wednesday, so I'd taken the day off (all my annual leave is now booked up, although not all used - and I've taken a couple of 'in case' days either side of the weekend the new grandson is due that I may not even use at all, so can be rescheduled).  The afternoon one was cancelled, so we popped into TK Maxx (end of line, previous season type stuff) and got presents for everyone!  Not as well thought out as usual, or with any ethical concern whatever (except one of the purposes of TK Maxx is to stop stuff going into landfill, I suppose), but a step up from vouchers.

I am also planning to get the decorations up this weekend.  Christmas is happening, folks!

Yesterday, the husband and I went for lunch in our new favourite cafe.  Well, MY new favourite cafe, because the husband doesn't remember going there :D  It's the Victoria Gallery & Museum.  Lovely food, very reasonable, much more civilised than the Starbucks across the street.  When we went in, the sun was shining.  When we came out, it was hailing!  Husband huddled under the umbrella and I pulled my snood over my head and we hurried home.  During the afternoon, the hail turned to snow and the world is now white!  We haven't had proper snow in years.

Over the week, I got through the whole series of 'Wednesday', which at heart is the type of programme I'd not normally watch - a High School Drama!  *horrified gasp*  But Wednesday made it dark enough to be enjoyable, whilst Enid made it fluffy enough for me to cope with.  I kind of guessed who the big bad was before the end, although I did have some wrong turns, too.  The ending definitely suggested there'll be another series.

I'm also watching ST:DS9 as comfort blanket.  And I have the second series of 'Warrior Nun' to watch - and 'Dragon Age: Absolution' has popped up.

I also recommend 'Dragon Prince'.

Oh, and we have a release date for FFXVI!!!  Colour me VERY excited :D
