It's ALIVE!!!
Jun. 18th, 2022 07:45 amOur tiny (1 x 0.5 x 0.5m) pond (#itsapondnotapuddle) has produced life! Apparently, a year ago a mother damselfly decided to lay her eggs there. On Wednesday, seven of her babies climbed back out and shed their skins. Six of them then flew away; I'm guessing the seventh was just exhausted and didn't make it ;( But I am ridiculously excited by the fact that they were there at all. I was originally hoping for frogs, but I think the spot where the pond is is just too cold - but I'll take damselflies!
Tomorrow is Father's Day and the daughter and her fiance are taking us all out for a meal at the Albert Dock. Hopefully, the place is as accessible as it seemed when I walked round it on Tuesday.
I've rebought the Moomin books. I had most of them as a child and enjoyed them, then fell out of love in my 20's and gave them away. But I'm thinking I might re-engage with them as an older adult. I'm about half-way through the first to be published (Comet in Moominland) - but it isn't the start of the story because it references things that happened in a book that was published later. Which is weird. Anyway, I still love Snufkin <3
Anyway, today is a normal Saturday and the cleaning doesn't do itself, unfortunately! See you next week, DW :)
