Well thank you...

Every month we have a Cascade meeting - stuff gets reported to us that's going on around the university and the leadership team update us on what's going on around the department. Every now and then, we get an update on something particular, and this month it was (drumroll, please), PROJECTS! All of the PMs talked about one or two of their projects, what the work was for and who was involved. All of them had collective amnesia about me :O I mean... Who sets up your meetings? Who takes your fucking minutes?! Who helps track your progress, your RAPID?!?!
Immediately afterwards, I had an agenda-setting session with one of the PMs. 'How did you think that went?' they asked. 'Well, I felt like I don't do anything,' I replied. They were mortified, apologised, and put a message in the meeting chat. But, it just adds to the feeling I have that nobody fucking appreciates what I DO!!!
Anyway, the upside of the exercise was that the PMs actually got to talk about their own projects, and bring them to life, rather than the usual person rattling through them.
This morning, we had a visit from a building firm to give us an estimate for the garden. They recommended gravel as the cheapest option, but talked about the job in a way that sounded right - membrane, hardcore, membrane then a good layer of gravel, plus resetting the existing flags and power-washing them and the tarmac - plus the gutters. The quote was about half what I expected (I think I was over-estimating), and even the cost for paving was pretty good. We have another firm coming to do a quote - it was supposed to be Friday, but now it's next Tuesday *sigh*
This evening, we signed up for solar panels. The front of our house is almost due South, so there's a good chance the electricity company will be paying us!
Enjoyed half a Doctor Who story and now I'm watching Rex Sterling's FFX playthrough. Still a beautiful game.
