Husband had an appointment to have an ultrasound scan done on his liver, before which he had to fast for six hours. The first appointment was at Broadgreen at 4.20 on 3 Jan - the day after his foot appointment and two days before a blood test. Three appointments right after Christmas felt like a bit much, and heading out to Broadgreen in the late afternoon, knowing it would be dark by the time we got there let alone home again, was definitely a big, fat NOPE. So, I rearranged it for a morning thinking we'd get the scan done and just have a late breakfast - but husband woke up absolutely ravenous and I realised by the time he ate the fast would be more than 12 hours. Not good for a diabetic. So, I rang up to change it again, explaining to the person I spoke to that husband needed time to eat and fast - what about 11am? Er... NO! He's not going to have his breakfast at 5am! Eventually, we settled on 4.20pm today at the Royal - and we made it there with no fuss, even with the rain!

He also has a haematology appointment at 9am tomorrow, also at the Royal and he's making positive noises about it. Sometimes getting him to appointments feels like dealing with a toddler not a grown man in his 50s but he enjoyed the fresh air today, so I sold it to him as another chance to get outdoors :D

Next week is the dreaded eye exam out at Aintree. Not sure we'll make that one...

In other good news, I transferred the DDs for the Council Tax and water to the new account, both online. Tomorrow, I plan to tackle the home insurance and O2/Virgin. And I sent my email to the CEO regarding our pension fund's investment in arms manufacturers, explaining why I believe said investments are at odds with our stated values as an organisation. Fingers firmly crossed that I get any kind of response - a favourable one would be sparkles on the cherry on the icing on the cake!

The frustration is with IFR. I'm currently solving puzzles using fiery arrows that I can move in mid-air - so far so good. Sometimes, this works really well and the puzzle is a lot easier than I expected. At other times, it's... well, not. At the moment I'm standing in an area filled with poisoned gas, in a cramped space, trying to get an arrow to fly up not down and then around two tight corners. It's possible I'm missing something, so I've paused the game for tonight and will try again tomorrow.

Oh, and a mix up over whether a Risk is really red and open or should have been closed at the last Project Board meeting - which, if it should have been and I've missed it, is why I ask people to review the draft minutes before I send them out *heavy sigh* But also, it would be a good idea to review the RAPID as well as the actions when I'm setting the agenda with the PM. So, lesson learned there.
