A nice quiet Saturday

Last Sunday, we finally met the new grandson. Apologies for the size - can't work out how to make it smaller!

In the process of eating the same diet as the husband (for support) and taking him to all his appointments, I've lost a couple of dress sizes! Well, maybe 1.5... I've always been a UK 10/12 but I was pushing up to 12/14 last year. I'm back to a proper 10, though - some of my jeans are literally hanging off me! I could have gone in to town to invest in some new ones but I really felt like a 'sit still and don't move very much' kind of day. The jeans can wait. I don't know that I've lost weight as such. We invested in some scales for the husband since it's one of the questions we keep getting asked - when I weighed myself I was 10st but, obviously, I have no idea what I was before. I have definitely firmed up some squishy areas, though :)
I've made a start on my first clown. I have two halves of a head (you join the head halves to the body halves, then join front to back) and most of a leg and foot (just need to sew the sole on). I'm hand-stitching because I really don't get on with sewing machines. My stitching is pretty good but I'm going over the seams twice - a) to make sure there aren't any gaps and b) it just makes the seams a bit stronger. I'm not expecting them to get played with but it's still better safe than sorry!
And I think that's all for now :)
