Conserving mental energy
Nov. 12th, 2022 03:05 pmPhysically, I think I'm pretty much there. Mentally - I'm looking after my spoons.
Husband and I went to town to do a bit of pre-Christmas window shopping this morning. We went REALLY early - like we were in town before 10am - and it was already busy. So glad we were just thinking about thinking about Christmas shopping rather than actually trying to do any. We got round three shops, stopped at the cafe of the third to recharge before moving on to two others - then just noped out. There really is only so much my brain can cope with at the moment.
Monday, I want to organise repeat prescriptions and reorganise some hospital appointments. Getting my brain used to the idea :D
We had an appointment with the heart nurse on Wednesday who informed us that the husband has gall stones! We'd been putting the pain in his side down to constipation... Apparently, our GP sent us a letter on 19 October - it hasn't arrived. But the heart nurse is happy that his heart is now stable, so hopefully we can get something done with the gall stones. Apparently, they can use sound waves to destroy them, so no need for surgery - fingers crossed.
And I'm expecting to be back in the office on Tuesday for the first time in over a month. As always, being around people brings mixed feelings.
Also want to go to church tomorrow. I'll really feel I'm 'back', then.
And that's life at the moment. See you next week, DW!
