That week was a blur

I spent a good deal of last week rushing from one thing to another, even when I was sitting at my desk, but I got some shit done.
- spoke (fairly coherently) on Candlemas at St M's
- redrafted the safeguarding policy for the Parish
- drafted a role descriptor for Parish Wardens (now need to do them for all the other roles...)
- led ToG on Hannah at (almost) a moment's notice (why did I pick the Tuesday right after speaking at St M's?!)
- recorded two (count 'em! - two!!!) powerpoint presentations for work
- mapped 5 processes (still 3 on my desk with who knows how many to come)
- a very tasty tea of lamb leg steaks
- some reorganising of 70x700 (but still sooo much to do...)
- 2 sessions of belly dance and 2 sessions of Zumba
So, yeah - that was a week.
It also left me with little time for being social. We had a new starter this week. We exchanged a few words during the week, but nothing meaningful. Partly this is just me being me. On Thursday morning, another colleague informed me that some monster thing that I didn't want to do anyway had been cancelled. I raised my hands to Heaven and exclaimed, 'Thank God!' (mostly because this would give me time to finish the powerpoint thing).
New colleague said, 'I've never seen you so happy!'. Given that they've only known me a week, this pulled me up short. Without putting any more pressure on myself, I think my sociability at work needs some attention! I'm not even sure when life got to be so busy, I just know that it dialled up at some point before Christmas and hasn't dialled back down. Thankfully, I don't bring my work home - but I do church stuff during my lunch break. I think I'm going to book myself one 'free' lunch every week.
