A step in the right direction...

rosa_heartlilyThis time last year I was making progress with GoW: R, ignoring games on sale because PS+ backlog, feeling too much testosterone in the air at work, fighting with Power BI, watching Unforgotten, and chatting with an old school friend.
Today I watched a YT video about tired story tropes (I have none of them planned for my story!), and one from LBC about Mandelson. I wonder where all this is going to lead...?
On the way to work, my newly sewn button came loose - thankfully I caught it this time. The shanks of the buttons are metal, which means they rub against the thread every time I move. I've ordered some large press studs to go on the inside, and I'll keep the buttons on the outside for show. I wanted to get some funky buttons but couldn't find just the right thing, so the original ones will have to do for now at least. I am still very unimpressed that such an expensive coat has such a design flaw.
I tried my new hairdresser and I really like the result. Cost enough... I suppose everything's going up. The hair dresser was lovely, though, and really took their time to understand what I wanted. And it seems like my kind of place - there's a poster about trans rights in the window.
And I had a go at using AI to compare the DevOps board for a project against a spreadsheet tracking the tickets against specific areas. I'm not sure it was much quicker than doing it by hand - but that was because I was learning. I'm going to document the process tomorrow. And update the Power BI report I was supposed to do today!
I met up with my mentee for what I thought was going to be our last meeting - but it looks as though the funding for the project they're working on is going to be continued. At least for now. They are going to continue looking for a new job, though, which I think is a good idea.
I've just watched a couple of episodes of Tom Baker's Doctor Who - and now a Sideprojects video about how our understanding of history has changed.
