Yay for the sun!
Feb. 22nd, 2026 08:53 pm This time last year I was making progress with GoW:R, watching the real Unforgotten, and the fictional version.
Today I got to church quite early so I could do the meet and greet on the door, but didn't take my keys because I expected the side door to be open. It wasn't. Someone else was already waiting and a third person arrived a moment later. We tried ringing the bell on the side door but the new bell never seems to be working. We moved to the front door, which we expected to open quite soon. It didn't. We had a chat and then one of the other people tried the side door again and got an answer! And then the main door opened and we trooped in. I stayed by the door to do the greeting.
We were pretty strong numbers-wise, despite the Chinese New Year celebrations blocking the traffic. There was a brand new person, too, who said they were looking for a church. Well, we're a church! I didn't get to speak to them, but they were deep in conversation with the person sitting next to them, so hopefully they'll come back. After the service, the four younger people sat together chatting and laughing. I happened to stand near them and I hope they didn't think I was eavesdropping. I was listening to them laughing and feeling glad we had provided a space for them, but I didn't hear anything they were talking about.
Back home, I made dinner and we watched an episode of the Irish Traitors. Then it was time for the match, so I came upstairs for some TTPII. As predicted, some of the puzzles that stumped me yesterday resolved themselves pretty easily once I tried them with a rested brain. In one case, it was a happy accident that led to the solution, though, and a couple remained stubbornly unsolved. One thing I love is when something in a puzzle gives me a clue to the solution to another. Today it was the fact that when there's an object in the middle of a pressure pad, another object will rest on the edge but will still hold it down. And I do play the puzzles out in my head when I'm not playing the game. I'm at 22 hours and have reached the third set of puzzles on the third side of the megalith and I feel I'm making steady progress.
Tonight we watched The Floor together, and I've just watched the penultimate episode of Ripple. There was a reveal in the last episode of a connection that wasn't explored in this one, and a reveal in this one about yet another. Either the last episode is going to be jam packed, or there's a second series in the offing! I want to watch the new series of The Lincoln Lawyer, but I think I should give The Doctor some love, first.
And Chocobo's Dungeon: Every Buddy is on sale but I've got enough of a backlog. Also, whenever I've looked at it in the past, the sale price has still seemed a bit high. So, I probably won't take the plunge.
We seem to have done really well money-wise this month, even with me spending an extra £300. Not sure what we've done different but I'm very happy about it, whatever it is!
Last but not least, we had some genuine sunshine today and the solar panels had a great day. More of that, please :)
