...to dust we will return...
Feb. 18th, 2026 09:09 pmA year ago I was having a restful WFH day, watching Unforgotten, and looking forward to watching SkadiLP play Cyberpunk 2077 (I'm not half-way through, yet!).
Today I managed to get my arse into gear enough to do not 1, not 2 but 4 character outlines! I had two people left on my list but I realised I needed at least two more. That's what an early night and a good sleep gets me.
The first thing at work was a training session on coaching. Which was 2 hours of being talked at - whilst being told that good coaches listen. But... they only had 2 hours. My coaching training course lasted 4 days. Questions were encouraged but there wasn't really a chance to interact. I have signed up for another session on effective meetings, though.
I tried to join one of the service catalogue meetings but I was the only person on the call so I gave up after 10 minutes and had a proper dinnertime instead. And yes, watched another episode of SkadiLP's Cyberpunk 2077! I'm at 50-something of 138 episodes.
I sent electronic receipts for my pearly white PS5 controller and fancy backpack - total just under £220 - to the person who manages the scheme and they came back asking me to spend the balance. It makes sense that they have to put in for the full amount, I just hadn't thought about it. So I'm back looking at coats. Going to make a decision tomorrow!
This afternoon there was the kick-off workshop for the first module of the AI Apprenticeship programme. We have really begun... I've put time in my calendar for producing the project that goes with it.
Later on I had a meeting with Big Boss and EA Colleague and showed them what AI had produced from our very random spreadsheet. They were both pretty impressed with the diagram - as I was when I first saw it. So much simpler than our existing diagram, which we don't want to share with the auditor anyway.
I made Lemon Chicken with noodles for tea but it was not a success. There was time for me to go to the Glitter Ash service, but I decided against. When I have the option to stay at home, I'm going to take it - especially because it's not only REALLY cold out but it started raining. I realise this is not the attitude of a true penitent... But I am starting my virtual pilgrimage along the Camino Frances, so I'm not ignoring Lent entirely.
Speaking of which, I think it's time I made a start.
