I think really the lack of "good" ending, as much as we want there to be one for our own personal resolution, is correct for the themes of the game--nothing ties up neatly, and there aren't any truly good choices. It's like grief that way. You move on, but it up and shanks you sometimes when you aren't expecting it, and there's always a bit of a hole left behind where "what if I had...?" lives and occasionally bites your ankles.
