Such a looong day!

Today has been one of those days that feels like it started about 48 hours ago. And I was busy for the full day, so it's not like anything dragged. I had three meetings (well, one catch up and two proper meetings), which all got moved for one reason or another, meaning I got to make progress on stuff. In particular, I got a little ahead of myself for next week, so that shouldn't be a mad rush from one thing to another.
Yesterday, an issue was raised by a colleague in another team and the PM of the relevant project came to speak to me about it, but I was in the middle of Big Stuff and didn't really take it in. Having some space to breathe today meant that I could pay it some attention, so I did that. The issue was semi-legitimate...? but mostly felt like Arsy Person Being Arsy - which they can be on occasion. On the other hand, it's pushing us to tighten up our roles and responsibilities template, which is always a good thing.
I got the training satisfaction survey to a state boss, LM and I could agree on. LM and I still had reservations because it's not usually us who do the training, but 'it's part of the project', so we do what we're told. It occurred to me that we could give it a trial with one of the projects that's about to finish, so I got the PM and boss to agree, then contacted the person who runs the training to check I wasn't treading on their toes. Because, of course they get feedback from their users, right? Er... no... So, we might actually be doing one of their jobs for them. <_<
And my monthly report is 99.5% done, but LM has missed the deadline I gave. OF COURSE! So, that means chasing them in the morning, then hoping boss has time tomorrow and Monday to review it before I send it to the secretary of the relevant committee on Tuesday. *crosses fingers*
This time last year I was grumbling about time differences, reflecting on how love is sometimes hard to do, and the importance of focussing on the micro level rather than struggling with the macro.
I managed to get the hymns sorted for Sunday. Now I just need to write the talk!
