And once more... with feeling!

rosa_heartlilyI started the day with a dash into town for some essential odds and ends. I think I got there just in time because it was still pretty quiet.
I'd booked in a cut-and-blow, so swung by the hairdresser on the way home. Our house is part way up a hill and some of the routes are steeper than others. Turns out, Knight Street between Berry Street and Rodney Street is one of the steeper ones - especially when you have shopping to carry. So, it was quite nice to have a stop off point! And always nice to be the focus of someone's complete attention for half an hour or so. He also managed to get the 'short at the back and long at the front' right!
I don't really make New Year's Resolutions but I do make an effort to re-engage with my routines. So, today was a non-cleaning day because I'm on holiday but next Saturday will be. For 2025, I want to add a couple of new routines - one for the gardens and one for my hair. At the moment, I get my hair cut when I can find time, which is why I've been MEANING to get it done for over a month. Next year, I will make it every other month come Hell or high water, which should result in only needing a light trim on each visit. We shall see...
After dinner, I sank somewhere between 2.5 and 3 hours into Veilguard. I did a companion quest and a story quest, and picked up a shed load of OTHER quests while I was at it. And I've just spent 90 minutes on another companion quest and another side quest - plus one I stumbled across whilst trying to do the other one. Next up is a third companion quest... What do you mean Main Story...?
So far, my only real complaint is the voice acting, particularly for the PC. The VA can't seem to decide if she has a Geordie accent or a neutral 'English' one and it's quite off-putting. I haven't had any struggles with the puzzles, which is good because some of the stuff in Inquisition was just tedious. I'm liking the companions and their interactions with each other, and I'm enjoying getting more of Solas' backstory. I don't know about replayability, but there are so many backgrounds to choose from and dialogue options it should at least be possible to go for something different.
