And breathe...
Jun. 12th, 2025 09:33 pmThis time last year I was attending the uni's conference and connecting with colleagues old and new, prepping for Father's Day and Eldest Grandson's 18th, and finding new places in Tunic.
Today started with a quick catch up with Gaming Colleague. They've just finished the Indiana Jones game and are expecting to play Clair Obscur at some point, which of course I encouraged!
After that was a session on Islam and extremism led by an Imam. He explained what Islam is, what Muslims believe, and how they practice their faith, then went on to explain what counts as extremism and what signs to look out for. I was there as part of my Local Safeguarding Officer role. There was also the best explanation I've heard of the Prevent Duty - that it's about helping to prevent people from becoming radicalised in the first place. And, of course, it's not only Muslims who are radicalised.
This afternoon I met my new Spiritual Director, who feels like a good fit. They asked how they could help and I said I need more challenge. They are known amongst their friends as a good questioner, so it feels like they'll work for me.
Now I'm watching the end of S3 of The Sinner. When I've watched S4, I might go back to The Witcher.
I'm looking forward to a nice, quiet day tomorrow.
