Bad news is good news!
Jun. 5th, 2025 10:06 pmThis time last year, I was enjoying cuddles with husband, editing, promising myself never to read anything by Hilary Mantel again, and enjoying Psych.
Today, I had a quiet day ahead so I went to Morning Prayer at St Margaret's. Only three of us but 'where two or three are gathered...'.
Then I wandered down to Redmond's for the WIPS social. I was part way through the latest episode in Saga Husband when my phone went. The conversation had moved on by the time I got back to the table but later the woman I was with asked me to finish the story, which was very nice.
After that it was down to the office, where I poked around at some work. I pushed back on creating a 'tech' version of the PMF - I mean, it's a framework for a reason! I put my case in an email because I don't think the person who asked for it wouldn't listen long enough for me to explain.
And I think we can point all our Power BI reports at a single dataset, so I've suggested that to the dev.
I had a note in my diary for next week to delete some folders. I took a quick look and they're docs about projects that never happened, so I'm more comfortable about it. But I still haven't done it :D Deletion is so... final...
The GP sent a text for husband to book an appointment to discuss his heart failure. I clicked the link but the earliest date was next week. I knew he couldn't wait another week, so I rang the surgery and they'd had a cancellation for tomorrow. Colour me relieved! But how/when to tell husband, who hates appointments... Just before he went to bed he asked if there was any way I could ring the GP tomorrow and get him back on his meds! Well, funny you should ask... So, that was OK.
In COE33 I replayed Silene's island - so good to be able to swagger around smashing the enemies I ran away from the first time. I even defeated the Chromatic enemy lurking in its corner. I tried one of the companion quests and ALMOST defeated the boss, even though the entrance was still red. I'll have another go tomorrow but I may need to grind a bit more.
And I'm finishing the night with the next two episodes of The Sinner. Lots of reveals - but we're not at the end yet!
