This time last year I was getting ready to swap line managers (again!), musing on the empty tomb narratives, and ranting about people's 'true' names.

I've given very few instructions regarding my funeral, but getting my name right is one thing I want my family to insist on. I use a shortened version of my given first name, which is how people know me, and how God knows me. My full name (first and middle) is only useful for legal purposes! And since I took my husband's surname when we married, my current legal name does not match my birth name. Here's hoping the UK stick to 'only' requiring passports and don't insist on birth certificates to prove identity for voting purposes...

The big meeting that was scheduled for Monday has been moved to mid-May. Good in one way because we won't have to scrabble round getting everything out this week (with one of the key people on leave!). Not so good in another because it just pushes it out. But it's important to have it and to give it proper space and attention.

I met up with a colleague for a chat this afternoon. We first met at graduation a couple of years ago and just hit it off. They've had a bit of a tough time but they've come through it stronger. Someone they work with told them to 'do something with X students' very dismissively - and they've turned it into podcasts and BBC interviews and I don't know what else. Go them! I also shared the shame I still feel over something that happened in our church community and they encouraged me to see it as an opportunity to do things differently in future, which is good advice. And also to make use of the network I have at the university, which I never even think of doing. Which is stoopid.

And out of the blue, a member of our congregation walked past! They were heading off to Southport to perform in The Pirates of Penzance, which got my colleague very interested. I might have made an introduction.

I had intended to take a pre-made pasta salad to work today and completely forgot it. I really would forget my head if it wasn't screwed on! But at least it was only me impacted by my terrible memory. I picked up a meal deal from Tesco and had the pasta salad for tea.

And that was today.
