Tech is wonderful... when it works...

This time last year I was looking forward to a quiet couple of days, cheering Joshua and freebies in FFXVI, and critiquing Barbie. And the Patriarchy.

Today, I tried to check my Current Account balance and got a message that I needed to reinstall the app. Normally this happens mid-way through an actual transaction, so I was glad all I wanted was my balance. I decided to leave it 'til tonight because it's a whole Thing of entering my details, including those of one of my accounts and I didn't want to do all that this morning. So, I've just tried to do it. It seemed that I'd reinstalled the app but it wouldn't open. So, I uninstalled it again and tried to reinstall it again and... the spinny wheel thing is just spinning and the Cancel button is greyed out... But it's there and I can now open it. Ranting on DW must have scared it into submission! Excuse me a moment... OK, that was remarkably painless in the end.

Now I need to install another app for monitoring husband's health. Back in a mo...

OK, back to today.

Ummm... A pretty quiet one, actually. Usual cleaning jobs. I pushed myself to do the kitchen today because who wants to clean the kitchen on Mother's Day?! Spent the afternoon chatting to husband and watching S1 of the UK Traitors for some reason. I mean, I don't mind too much because I didn't watch that one but the boys did. I think the lack of football is finally getting to the son :D

But it meant I didn't get to Forspoken until this evening. I forgot to mention yesterday that I'd got myself a VERY pretty red cloak. I got another new one tonight that said something about resistance to poison but it's not red and it's not pretty, so I'm not changing! I did change my necklace, though, because I was able to upgrade the one I wasn't using. Today I bagged my third lot of nail art. And MOST importantly, I have my first familiar - a blue cat with wings; so adorable. *snuggles Clere* Getting it was a little bit of a faff but nothing too annoying. And now it will visit me at the Refuges. Have I mentioned how much I love the Refuges? They're lovely little 1-person spots of respite with a bed, a bookcase, a crafting bench, and sometimes some interesting information. And now kitties! I like to save my game when I'm there so Frey can rest up, or sit outside in the sunshine :D

There are timed challenges but I'm steering clear of those for the time being - but they're linked to some sort of memories...? So, might be interesting, but probably something to do if I have time to kill before my birthday. Tomorrow I plan to explore some of the new points of interest before pushing on with the main quest.

I'm enjoying the freedom the game gives me. Want to get on with the story? Fine, just follow the gold glowy thing and keep an eye out for mana pools and enemies. Want to do a quick side thing? Well, there's a fort here and a labyrinth there. Want a bit of everything? Knock yourself out!

And that was today. The clocks change tonight, so chat buddy and I will be in sync again on Monday.
