So, the puzzle I was trying to solve yesterday - much less complicated that I was making it. Of course. Very pleased to have worked it out by myself, though. I've freed my first god! Go me :D And now I'm trying to solve my third constellation puzzle. I'm leaving the main story for a little bit to do some side stuff. There is a LOT of side stuff!

Got husband to the hospital - double yay! The haematologist put the fear of God into us by talking about needing to collect bone marrow to investigate the cause of husband's anaemia, which would need an operation. They rattled off a whole litany of tests for various things, which also upset husband because he thought he was going to be poked and prodded all day - but all it needed was four vials of blood (still a lot of blood, of course) to be tested. Since the haematologist hasn't rung, it looks as though the folic acid is doing its job, so no operation. Colour us both relieved.

At home, I tried to make an appointment with my dentist online. I've got a molar that's been quite grumbly for a while, and protests whenever I eat or drink anything hot or cold. Now that there's some daylight between husband's appointments, I've decided it's time to get it seen to. I tried making an appointment online (as per the instructions on the recorded message) - existing NHS patient - no appointments available. So I rang again and left my name and number. Still haven't heard back. I have been considering changing as there's a dentist attached to our doctor's surgery. And I'm guessing they wouldn't be snobbish about NHS patients. I think I'll pop in when I pick up husband's prescription on Friday.

Today's DevOps User Group devolved into a debate around approaches to project management - which is not what this group is about. I'm not even sure how it happened. I tried bringing it back but I'd lost it by then. At the centre of the debate were two blokes - both perfectly lovely but with very fixed opinions. I'm not even sure they were really talking about different things but they were talking past each other and not listening. I have high hopes for this group but they really need to give their heads a wobble and focus. One in particular doesn't seem to understand the concept of taking people with him, and he's a PM! He also uses words like 'must' and 'have to' a lot, which isn't going to endear him to anybody.

Also did a purge of my sent items, which I like to do on a monthly basis.

And the CEO has passed my email on to Finance and HR, via the Secretariat. I thought I might have got a personal response, since the CEO was once my line manager. Far too high and mighty to deal with the riff raff, obviously :D
