In, out, in, out...
Dec. 11th, 2021 08:32 amSo, it looks like we might be back to working from home - yay!
But church services are still in-person... This could make Tuesday's VERY awkward, trying to explain why I'm working from home but running down to St M's for A Taste of God at lunch time.
I also have a first aid requal course next Thursday and Friday, which really can only happen in person. They're keeping the groups small, though, presumably so we don't have to share the resuss dolls.
Or the edict from Management might be, 'stick to the current hybrid pattern'. We will know more on Monday.
I'm leading at St B's tomorrow and we have FOUR songs picked o_O I'm going to ask people not to sing, even if we are all masked. Maybe 'In the Lord I'll be ever thankful' because it's a quiet one. Numbers have been pretty low, though, so it might not be a problem. Also, we need someone to stream it because I'm not leading and managing tech!
And Boris Johnson might have finally got into a mess he can't get out of. And, of course, it's not his personal morality (or lack thereof), or his handling of Brexit or Covid, or indeed any one of a million serious blunders that is proving to be the straw that breaks this particular camel's back. No - it's a Christmas party. I mean, the Government holding a party when everyone else was being told NOT to have parties is serious but it seems pretty small compared to some of the stuff he's weathered.
Finally, I have discovered that a phrase I thought was in common parlance isn't. The phrase is 'bobbance and bounce' and means the same as 'vim and vigour'. It is used in 'The Silver Chair' to describe a character who is, compared to most people, completely the opposite - but is regarded as flighty by his community :D The character - Puddleglum the marsh wiggle - has always been one of my favourites. Anyway, I thought I'd share that piece of random information :D
