New old stuff
Apr. 26th, 2018 07:46 amI have always struggled to maintain a paper diary. I have often bought one at the start of the year and dug it out of a random corner in about June having not touched it in the meantime. However, I have recently discovered 'bullet journaling' and I think I can make it work.
I have an A5 notebook (which I've decided is too small - I think I need a B6), and I've set up calendars for the next few months. I am also using it to record my thoughts on the daily Richard Rohr meditations and for my daily examen. I'm using little coloured tabs to keep track of where stuff is, which means I can use every page. Because I'm using it every day for other stuff, I'm not forgetting the diary/calendar aspect. I have a to do list and some gentle goals, like finishing the editing of Chapter 5 in April.
I have an electronic version, using OneNote, for work stuff, which is also working. I am also setting goals at work because I am not enjoying the sense of just drifting along. I want purpose!
Yesterday looked like a fairly quiet day at work and then in the last hour about 5 things dropped on me, all wanting to be done NOW. I did most of them but one has become Friday's problem. I have absolutely no capacity today.
Last night we had a meeting of the Pastoral Care Team, including a new member from one of the other churches in the team. We might become a full-team group, yet!
I have an item on my to do list to explore 'rules of life', which comes back to that 'having a purpose' thing. At the moment, it's only an aspiration, though!
Gaming wise, I've beaten the final boss in NNK2, which did involve skirmishing as I suspected. It wasn't the easiest fight but it wasn't the hardest, either - I did it in one go. I have seriously enjoyed - am still enjoying - the game, but from a gaming pov rather than story. There really isn't much story. But the battles and skirmishes have proved fun and the sidequests have been enjoyable. I think the worst part was doing the Random Things to get the bloody library card, right at the beginning. There was a point in the middle of that where I seriously questioned whether it was worth it! I am now just filling time before my birthday getting as many of the trophies as I can - maybe even the 'you got all the trophies' trophy!
