The joy of giving!
Dec. 24th, 2024 10:08 pmParents and daughter/sil/grandkids arrived laden with gifts for me, husband and son - and left laden with our gifts to them :D
I started the day with a bath, then ran up to Tesco for the 'last few bits' - that weren't that 'few' :D Came home and rearranged the living room with All The Food and managed to sit still for a few minutes before they all arrived.
Younger grandson is definitely more child than baby, now. On the way down, they saw a bus with a picture of a goat on it (presumably advertising something...). Daughter said to YG - look, a goat. He replied - bus. Presumably with the withering look only a toddler can give :D The little tractor and trailer we gave him went down well - he even walked the animals up the little ramp at the back. And in the garden, he played hide and seek with us by going behind the shrubs. He took a definite shine to the cup cakes, although he didn't bother taking the papers off, so just licked the icing off without eating the cake *facepalm*
Granddaughter had the cutest reindeer hat and matching coat. Underneath was a stripy babygrow with a sparkly tutu. I had planned to keep some of the toys we got her - squishy blocks from us and a playmat from son - here but they got bundled up and taken home before I quite twigged. But she has all of YG baby toys here :D I'm thinking of investing in a cupboard or some sort of storage unit to hold all the toys.
My personal haul was - hand warmers, cosy socks, Lush bear bath bombs, Lush voucher, ginger scented candles, and a fountain pen. I'm looking forward to discovering what the son has bought me, and to playing DAV *squeals excitedly*
I decided against finishing FFVIII tonight. Instead, I wanted to watch Emma on iPlayer - except they've taken it down :O *Sulky Rosa is sulky* I tried The Road with Viggo Mortensen but couldn't get into it, so I switched to Doctor Who. This was a Troughton Cyberman story. As with the previous Dalek story, I could see some ideas that were reused in the modern era. And I have a brand new story to enjoy tomorrow! *squeals again*
And that was my Christmas Eve.
