Just when you thought it was safe...

This time last year I was preparing to go back to work, reflecting on a good service, enjoying Sea of Stars, and glad that Liverpool beat Arsenal in the FA Cup.
Today isn't going so well. First of all, it snowed again. Tramping through the slush to work felt like a real hike, even with my wellies! And I think that's the last chance of seeing any damsel flies this year :(
Then, husband's CGM sensors are refusing to pair with my phone. I've tried two different ones and neither has worked. The company say they will replace them but I haven't read the small print, yet. And I don't know if the problem is the sensors (never had a problem before), the phone (the app was working fine this morning, and everything else is OK)... or husband...
I got a phone call from the rheumatology consultant to say the results from his blood test last week show a really high CRP count - like through the roof high - meaning he has some sort of infection. They've fitted us in at The Royal on Thursday morning with a view to prescribing antibiotics. He's been pretty off colour for a while, but he gets like that sometimes. His glucose readings were really high (when the bloody sensors were working!) but they'd been coming down, so I thought he must be getting better. When I told him, he seemed pretty chill about it - I was expecting him to sulk.
So, maybe there's something about the infection that's interfering with the sensors...? Feels really unlikely, though. A problem with the tech does seem more logical. I'll see if I can persuade him to try another one in the morning, maybe in the other arm. Otherwise, we're back to finger pricks :( I will also contact the company and see if they have any suggestions.
I meant to finish updating my character sheet thingy at dinner time but ended up writing a safeguarding report for next week's PCC - so the character sheet will have to wait for tomorrow.
In better news, the scaffolding is going up tomorrow for the solar panels (which are booked for Monday), and the gardeners have been in touch (honestly thought we'd seen the last of them!) and are due Thursday afternoon.
And I've just completed another companion quest in DAV. There's football on tomorrow, so I'm hoping to get to play again tomorrow.
