I've just watched part of Mastermind because one of the specialist subjects was the Chronicles of Narnia. I didn't do as well as I would have liked. Sulky Rosa is sulky >(
I met with a member of the clergy from the deanery today. They're someone I wouldn't naturally lean towards - I have Views about them and their congregation's views. But I met them at the Tuesday evening course and they said something about how they're glad there's a variety of theologies and churchmanship represented in the CoE. For the week after, I kept thinking of them but it took another couple of weeks before we were both at the session and could arrange a meet up. And then I had to rearrange it... But we finally got to meet today.
Other people have said this person has been working hard to expand their ways of thinking and experience, and I wanted to honour that. So, we chatted about our 'faith journeys', and how they've brought us to where we are. And they were able to get something of their chest about something they now felt was a mis-step - and I was given the words to reflect on how that had landed in a way that wasn't 'who the fuck did you think you were?' but wasn't 'oh, it's alright' either. So, that felt like a successful meeting.
This evening, our new Rector was installed - finally. I am very much looking forward to working with them. And two of our three former Rectors were also there.
I've watched Rex Sterling complete FFVIII. Chat 'persuaded' him to go right for Ultimecia because he found the path to the final battle without exploring the castle - he made it to Griever, which really isn't bad. It suggests to me that I can bypass the entire castle with 'god mode' in place. It's an interesting puzzle but frustrating, and I'd rather not go through it all. I also probably won't worry about getting all the GFs (thanks to Rex, I now think of them as girlfriends...). But I have been thinking that it's the perfect time-filler - you can expand or contract it to fill the time available. Need to finish - just storm ahead to the end. Have more time to fill - go for GFs, or cards, or chocobos. Or even the Pupu nonsense!
I have so enjoyed watching his first experience of this game - the closest thing I'll ever get to playing for the first time myself. One thing he's picked up on that I hadn't - Squall saves Rinoa in space, she saves him in time. And now he's trying to work out who's who in terms of kids and parents >D
